Gabrielle Wagner, Crescendo's 1st soprano, is originally from New Jersey. After receiving her BA in Theatre and Music from Smith College, she moved to San Francisco, where she sang with a capella group, In Sync (no, not the boy band. She really wanted the name Kitchen Sync, but the rest of the group vetoed her.)
Since moving to LA in 1995 to pursue her acting career, she's performed in many musicals including Hair, Tommy, Joseph…, and most recently starred as "Polly Peachum" with Paul Dillon in Brecht's The Threepenny Opera in a 16 week sold-out run at the Odyssey Theatre (LA Times Critic's Choice.)
Other favorites credits include: singing with the Doors (sans Jim, of course) on the demo cd for Celebration of the Lizard, a musical based on their music; working with director, Joss Whedon (Firefly); playing "Shirley" in the 7 week VH1 series In Search of the Partridge Family; working with George Clooney on HBO’s Unscripted; and performing in the award-winning production of SubUrbia ("Sooze") directed by her husband, Alex Craig Mann.
Gabi still stretches and hones her vocal skills with coach Valerie Fahren, and is a longtime acting student at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. She's also plays the cello under the tutelage of Simon Kaganovsky. When she's not doing all of this, she practices yoga, boxing (pre-Million Dollar Baby), and plays a lot of no limit Texas Hold 'Em. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, her dog, Fred, and cat, Shaggy.
