With a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts, an
MBA, and diplomates from the Credit Managers
Association of Southern California and the
School For International Banking at the
University of Colorado, one would imagine
CRESCENDO founder and music director, Bobbie L.
Garcia to be walking the corridors of corporate
America instead of concert halls. And indeed,
over fifteen of his postgraduate years were
spent climbing the corporate ladder. His banking
career culminated in his being hired as the
Division Manager in charge of the worldwide
operations of a major European bank. But
operating on the principle that life is an
ongoing and dynamic adventure, Bobbie was bent
on following his heart (Music has always |
been an
integral part of his life. He was a
boy soprano with the Manila Cathedral Choir and
learned to play musical instruments as a child. He
attended the PWU College of Music and Fine Arts on a
scholarship and starred in a number of musical
plays. He organized and was music director of the
highly-acclaimed Pasay City Academy Boys Chorus). In
1987 he retired from "work" and what followed were
travel forays around the world - the stuff travel
brochures are made of.
Between adventures, Bobbie returns to his home in
Glendale, California where he immerses himself in
his other passions which includes directing and
singing with CRESCENDO.
